The Rebel

A deep urge sets in
As I feel the wrath of the rebel,
Woken up from a deep slumber of all these years.
And now it takes over me and
The control of all my mental faculties. He says that he wants to break free,
From the shackles which bind the very unfairness of his being
To the dictates of this rudimentary society.
Fed up of this notion of 'you and me',
The selfish freak now wants to bask in his own glory.
And he says that he can’t put up anymore,
With this 'tag' of inferiority forced on to him.

For all these years, he says, hard he had tried,
To adjust with this nuisance.
But today his trial stands failed

And as the light at the other end fades away,
I see the one long standing conviction of my life departing me,
As my Id captivates my being.
